It's time for all those interested in being a Turn Around Project (TAP) Mentor/Tutor to get together for our orientation meeting. If you have friends that may be interested, please invite them, too.

Date: Thursday, August 9th, 2007, 7pm, Lakeview Baptist Church, 222 W 7th Ave, Tallahassee 32303.

Speakers will include Pastor Joseph Henderson (Pastor of Celebrate New Life Tabernacle Church), David Williams (TAP's Director), Betsy McCauley (District Volunteer Specialist) and Jerry Morris (Child Evangelism Fellowship Director) . TAP's vision and goals will be shared and applications filled out. We hope to see you all there. This is an exciting opportunity to reach out to our local children and make a difference in their lives. If you can not make the meeting, but are still interested in Mentoring/Tutoring with TAP at Ruediger Elementary or at another public school, please contact David Williams at 284-3651.

Turn Around Project (TAP) - Rebuilding, Equipping And Developing (READ). TAP'S vision is to rebuild communities from the inside out with a comprehensive faith-based program designed to impove and enrich the lives of urban area youth and families. Initially this ministry will serve as a public school outreach by providing mentors and tutors within the public school system and then will extend out to help community churches develope afterschool and social programs to meet youth and their families' needs while showing and sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Update of TAP: We are excited to announce that beginning in January 2007, we will be meeting to set up TAP's program. We plan to have our first afterschool tutoring/mentoring center in place by August 2007. As soon as we have the program set up, we will have a general interest meeting for those who want to volunteer as a tutor or mentor. Anyone interested in volunteering in any capacity for TAP, please enter your contact information and interested area under individual above (only if you haven't already done so) . We want to thank everyone that has shown interest in this wonderful outreach to our public school youth and families. Please keep TAP in your prayers as we work to make this outreach a reality in Tallahassee.
