I was fortunate to be born to Christian parents who took me to church from as early as I can remember. While still in my youth years I attended a youth revival at my church, East Hill Baptist in Tallahassee, and accepted Christ as my Savior at that service. I continued to attend church with my family but struggled with allowing God to be Lord of my life. God was patient with me as I went to my "far country" to fill my life with the things that the world has to offer. His spirit never left me though and I even found myself sharing the truth of His good news with others on occasion. Finally, as a young adult, after experiencing much of the world through college and military service, I accepted what in my heart I knew was the answer to a fulfilled life, to allow Him to be Lord as well as Savior. That was nearly 30 years ago and I have never regretted the decision. He has blessed me with a peace that is incomparable to anything this world has to offer. In gratitude, I try to live out my life here in service as He directs.

I have many favorite meaningful verses, but one that especially speaks the truth of the nature of God is Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
